Johnson in town on April 16

IRON MOUNTAIN – Area seniors are invited to meet Michigan Secretary of State Ruth Johnson and learn about new senior citizen programs she has implemented during a town hall meeting with state Rep. Ed McBroom on Wednesday, April 16.

McBroom and Johnson will be at the Dickinson County Library in Iron Mountain from 5:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.

“It’s my honor to bring one of the top state-elected officials to our communities for these in-person events,” said McBroom, R-Vulcan. “It doesn’t matter if you live in a city or rural area, to be face-to-face with our leaders who we normally only hear about through headlines or from TV news, is a great opportunity.”

McBroom and Johnson will also be holding town halls for Delta and Menominee counties on April 16.

They will be at the Escanaba Senior Center, 225 N. 21st St. in Escanaba, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. (Eastern time), and at the Menominee Spies Library, 940 1st St. in Menominee, from 1:30 p.m. to 2:45 p.m.

For more information, McBroom can be contacted toll free at 1-855-DIST-108; through his online office at www.repedmcbroom.com; or by e-mail, edmcbroom@house.mi.gov.
