CRYSTAL FALLS – An Iron River man accused of having sexual contact with an underage victim pleaded guilty to an amended charge in Iron County Trial Court on Wednesday.

Robert Streckert, 36, pleaded guilty to one felony count of second degree criminal sexual conduct. This was amended from a previous felony count of first degree criminal sexual conduct.

Two felony counts of first degree criminal sexual conduct will be dismissed as part of the plea agreement.

A sentencing date was set for May 19.

Streckert faces a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison.

Proceedings in the case were put on hold last year to allow for Streckert to complete a psychiatric evaluation. The evaluation was ordered in August, and Streckert was found competent to stand trial in December.

According to the criminal complaint, Streckert allegedly had sexual contact with a female victim between the age of 13 and 15.

The incidents occurred in Iron River between 2010 and June 2013.
