MARQUETTE – A suspect has been charged in connection to a marijuana bust at a Kingsford Heights residence earlier this year.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Maarten Vermaat confirmed that Randall Fieck Jr. was indicted last week in U.S. District Court in Marquette.
Neither Vermaat nor the court had information available on Fieck’s age or hometown.
Fieck faces one count of manufacturing and attempting to manufacture marijuana. The charge carries a minimum penalty of five years incarceration and a maximum penalty of 40 years incarceration.
Vermaat said that the charge stems from incidents that occurred between Oct. 21, 2013 and Jan. 29, 2014 in Kingsford.
On Jan. 29, members of the KIND drug team acted on a tip and executed a search warrant at a Kingsford Heights residence.
KIND members discovered and seized more than 200 marijuana plants, two pounds of processed marijuana, and a large amount of U.S. currency.
Vermaat said that Fieck’s future court dates will be scheduled once he is arraigned. Court officials reported that Fieck has been released on a personal recognizance bond in the interim.
