Tootsie Pet Idol winner

IRON MOUNTAIN – Tootsie, a 9-year-old pug owned by Madeline McCash captured first place in The Daily News Pet Idol sweepstakes.

Madeline is the daughter of David and Cathy McCash of Iron Mountain, and Tootsie has been a family member since it was since she was a puppy.

She is a very friendly and lovable dog who enjoys laying in the sun in her favorite chair, and riding in her pug-mobile that Madeline pulls behind her bike.

Other than some aquarium fish, Tootsie is the family’s only pet.

Tootsie will now become the mascot for the Newspapers In Education program at The Daily News for the school year 2014-15.

She also won a sitting and pet portrait from Freeman’s Photography, a one night stay at Spread Eagle Pet Motel, gift certificate from Niagara Animal Hospital, gift card from Kmart, gift certificate from Heart to Heart Salon and a basket of toys and treats from Ray’s Feed Mill. A prize package valued at more than $370.

Bunny, a pomeranian, owned by Bob & Paulette Dobson of Iron River, came in second place.

Cooper, a yorkie, owned by Andra Danielson of Kingsford, came in third place; and Uli, a chiweenie, owned by Mary Williams of Norway, came in fourth place.

Bunny and the Dobsons, will receive a prize package valued at more than $310. Prizes included a photo session from Karen’s Studio, gift certificate from Maple Leaf Kennels, gift certificate from Paws & Claws Pet Grooming, gift certificate from Iron Mountain Animal Hospital and a 35-pound bag of dog food from Tractor Supply.

Cooper and Danielson, will receive a prize package valued at more than $75. Prizes included a gift certificate from Tara’s Grooming Station, gift cards from Kmart, gift certificate from The Bow Wow “Wow” LLC, dog leash from Bigari’s Ace hardware and a bag of treats from Pet Supplies Plus.

Uli and Williams will receive a prize package valued at more than $45. Prizes included gifts cards from Kmart, gift certificate from Grooming Gallery and a dog leash from Bigari’s Ace Hardware.
