The incident occurred at about 10:15 a.m. on Camp 5 Road.

Deputies said that the vehicle owner had been warming his vehicle in the driveway when it was stolen.

Both the sheriff’s department and the Michigan State Police searched the area for the vehicle.

Deputies eventually found the vehicle traveling north on Camp 5 Road.

After a short pursuit and standoff after stopping, the suspect surrendered without altercation.

The suspect, 43-year-old Howard Charles Adkins of Cedar Lake, Ind., was transported to the Iron County Jail and lodged.

He faces a charge of unlawful driving away of an automobile. Bond was set at $2,500 cash.
