No injuries in car-train crash
IRON MOUNTAIN – No one was injured when a passenger vehicle collided with a train on Wednesday in Quinnesec.
The accident occurred at about 2:15 p.m. at the Lake Street railroad crossing.
Troopers from the Michigan State Police Iron Mountain post said that the passenger vehicle was traveling north when the driver saw the train approaching at the last second. The driver was unable to stop the vehicle and collided with the train.
Troopers said that the driver and three passengers were not injured. However, the driver was cited for violation of the basic speed law, troopers added.
Names will not be released, due to the driver being a minor.
