Woman hurt in train crash

IRON MOUNTAIN – A 44-year-old woman was injured when her car struck a train in Iron Mountain on Thursday.

The Iron Mountain Police Department responded to the accident on East H Street near River Avenue at approximately 4:45 p.m.

According to Chief Peter Flaminio, the woman was transported to the Dickinson County Memorial Hospital where she was treated for her injuries and released.

She was cited for failing to yield the right of way at a railroad crossing.

The Kingsford Public Safety Department, VA Police Department, Dickinson County Sheriff’s Department, Integrated First Responders, and the Iron Mountain Fire Department assisted on the scene.
