LINWOOD – Nancy (Lindberg) Piechowiak, 75, passed away on Monday, Feb. 24, 2014, at McLaren Bay Region with her family at her side following a 3 1/2 year battle with Parkinson’s.
She was born to the late Harry and Harriet (Chandler) Lindberg on Nov. 10, 1938, in Iron Mountain.
Nancy and Robert were married May 3, 1958, in American Martyrs Catholic Church in Kingsford by the Rev. John Hughes. Nancy and Robert are retired owners of Beaver Trucking Co. They are also members of St Valentine Catholic Church.
Surving besides her husband, Robert are her children, Jeff (Linda) Piechowiak, Karen Ropp, Debbie (Andy) Burzynski, Susan (Chris) Szeszulski, Aaron Piechowiak, Greg (Kristine) Piechowiak, and Nancy Jayne (Thomas) Knoerr; 18 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and a brother, Lawrence (Cherry) Lindberg.
Nancy was predeceased by a son-in-law, John Ropp.
The funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 1, at 11a.m. from St Valentine Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Christopher Coman and Deacon Michael Arnold presiding. Burial in St Valentine Church Cemetery.
Friends may call Rivertown Funeral Chapel on Friday from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Friday evening. Nancy will lie in state at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
