UPSET arrests in U.P.

GWINN – Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team (UPSET) detectives from Gwinn have made two recent drug arrests – one in Menominee County and one in Delta County.

In Menominee County, a 39-year-old man from Menominee was arrested on Saturday on one count of delivery of a schedule IV narcotic and one count of delivery of heroin.

Additional charges are pending.

The suspect’s name is being withheld pending arraignment.

In Delta County, a 44-year-old man from Escanaba was arrested on Monday on one count of manufacturing methamphetamine.

UPSET detectives said that their investigation into the Delta County incident began on Dec. 26 when deputies from the Delta County Sheriff’s Department went to a residence at 4477 M-35 in Ford River Township for a well-being check.

While at the residence, deputies observed meth-related components. UPSET detectives assisted with both the investigation and the removal of the hazardous materials.

The suspect’s name is being withheld pending arraignment.
