Clifford Mauck

SAGOLA – Clifford R. Mauck, 73, of Las Cruces, N.M., formerly of Niagara, Wis. and Sagola, died Friday, Feb. 21, 2014, in Las Cruces. He was born Sept. 17, 1941, in Galion, Ohio, son of the late Raymond and Margaret (Eusey) Mauck.

Cliff was raised in Iberia, Ohio, and graduated from the Iberia High school in 1959. He served his country in the U.S. Navy and had two tours in the Persian Gulf. Cliff married Joanne Archer on Sept.17, 1960, in Columbus, Ohio.

He had worked as an Ohio State highway patrolman from 1963 to 1966. Cliff and Joanne moved to Niagara in 1971, where they owned and operated the Mauck Insurance Agency from 1976 until 2004.

He was the past president of the Wisconsin Professional Insurance Agents in 1987. After retiring, they moved to Bush Lake in Sagola. Cliff was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Niagara.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Kelly Mauck in 2008; a brother, Arlis Mauck and a twin brother and sister, Arvine and Arleen, who both died at birth.

He is survived by wife, Joanne Mauck; one son, Craig Mauck; two grandchildren, Jason Mauck and Allison Mauck; one sister, Naomi Scales; and one sister-in-law, Shirley Swetnam. He is also survived by his dogs, Annie and Lilly.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 26, from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Niagara.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Fr. Matt Settle will offer the Mass of Christian Burial.

Burial will be in the Niagara Cemetery.
