Kingsford grad Maegan Mathew won’t have the time to construct a “Tom Izzo” sign for Sunday’s Big Ten basketball showdown in Ann Arbor.

“With my classes and workload, I unfortunately won’t be able to make another sign,” reported Maegan, secretary of the Michigan student section “Maize Rage.”

ESPN cameras caught her first sign – “Sorry Tom Izzo, Iron Mountain Bleeds Blue” a couple years back. An Associated Press photographer noted Maegan’s work last season.

Tommy’s Spartans and Michigan collide at 11 a.m. Sunday (CBS).

“You can look for another Michigan win, and an angry Izzo,” Maegan predicted, with a laugh …

Menominee High School football stars James Brown and Devon Harris, described as the “Taser and laser show” by Tom (Richie) Kaeser of The EagleHerald, signed letters of intent with Northern Michigan University.

Brown regards this past season’s win over archrival Kingsford as one of his career highlights, citing the “intensity of the game.”
