Robert S. Peterson
IRON MOUNTAIN – Robert Stephen Peterson, 63, of Iron Mountain, passed away at home in the arms of his loving wife on Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014.
He was born on Nov. 18, 1950, in Iron Mountain, son of the late Robert A. and Barbara (LeClaire) Peterson. He attended both Iron Mountain and Kingsford schools, graduating from Kingsford High School in 1969. He was a lifelong resident of the area. He married Kathy Ellis on Nov. 8, 1969, and they spent more than 44 wonderful years together.
Bob worked as a salesman for E & E Furniture for many years, retiring on May 1, 2013. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards, shooting pool and playing darts. He also enjoyed coaching soccer and was an avid Green Bay Packers Fan. More than anything he loved the 4th of July family picnic, where he got to sing karaoke and spend time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Karla Ellis; and a brother-in-law, Daniel Grailer.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Kathy Peterson of Iron Mountain; his son, Clint (Jodie) Peterson of Kingsford; daughters, Theresa (John) Proudfit of Iron Mountain and Rebecca Peterson of Kingsford; grandchildren, Brianna and Cassidy Peterson, Karen, Brandon, and Hannah Proudfit, Savahnna (Zack) Pollock, Victoria and Joaquin Peterson, and one granddaughter on the way; great-grandson, Riley Proudfit; brothers, Thomas Lee Peterson of Iron Mountain and James Ray (Janice) Peterson of Kingsford; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Gordon and Pat Ellis; brothers-in-law, Bill (Kathy) Ellis, Jeff Ellis (Jane Skoglund) and Perry (Cheryl) Ellis; sister-in-law, Cindy Grailer. He is further survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain.
The funeral service will follow at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Fr. Michael Woempner will officiate.
Burial will be in Iron Mountain Cemetery Park.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in his memory.
