Bay West LIFE group meets on Thursday

IRON MOUNTAIN – The Bay West LIFE group will offer a double feature on Thursday at 10 a.m. at Bay West campus in Iron Mountain.

First, in honor of Presidents’ Day, Lola Johnson will present a program titled “Why vote? A Brief History of the Franchise.” This election year is a good time to discuss the obligations of citizenship, she notes.

This will be followed by a talk by Beanie Leffler, in which she will recount her struggle with illiteracy; as well as the way in which reading widens one’s world. Reading is, indeed, fundamental.

Bay West LIFE (Learning Is ForEver) is a group of folks who believe that learning is a lifelong adventure.

The group meets on the second Thursday of each month at 10 a.m. at the Bay West campus on North U.S. 2 in Iron Mountain. If you have an interest, you are invited to join the group. There are treats and coffee on hand, and everyone is welcome.
