AMASA – Jacquelyn G. Kenney, 77, of Cicero, Ill., formerly of Amasa, passed away Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, at Burgess Square Nursing Facility in Westmont, Ill., following a courageous battle with leukemia.
She was born Nov. 12, 1936, in Amasa, daughter of the late Thomas and Mabel (Sjogren) Gorman. Jacquelyn was raised in Amasa and graduated from Amasa High School. She married Jerry Kenney of Amasa and they moved to Cicero, where they were lifetime residents. Jerry preceded her in death in 2005.
Jacquelyn is survived by one daughter, Cindy (Terry) Carr of Willow Springs, Ill.; three grandsons, Allan (Sarah), Terry (Matt), Jeremy (Jennifer); two great-grandchildren, TJ and Alexandra; one brother-in-law, Emil Kenney; three sisters-in-law, Sue Kenney, Shirley Kenney and Anita Stockham; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
A memorial service will be announced in the spring at the Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home of Crystal Falls.
Burial will be in Hematite Township Cemetery in Amasa in the spring.
