NORWAY – Barbara A. Brouwer, 94, of Norway, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, at Maryhill Manor in Niagara, Wis.
She was born on March 28, 1919, in Chicago, daughter of the late Frank and Barbara (Stariha) Fister.
Barb went to college when her youngest daughter went off to college. She became an executive secretary for Argonne National Laboratories in Lemont, Ill.
She married Dr. Henry Brouwer, and he preceded her in death.
Barb is survived by her children, Dr. Aileen (Mark) Schinderle of Norway and Gerard Brouwer of Leland, Ill.; grandchildren, Jake (Elena) Schinderle of Madison, Wis., and Dr. Derrick (Katie Roell) Schinderle of Norway; sisters, Lorraine (Rowland) Milburn of Naperville, Ill., Adeline (George) Logan of Northbrook, Ill., and her twin Frances (James) Havranek of Downers Grove, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Bill, Chuck and Louis Fister; and her sisters, Florence Powers and Tillie Locniskar.
A private family service will be held at Evangelical Covenant Church in Norway.
Interment will be held at the Norway Township Cemetery.
