Storm warning in Dickinson

IRON MOUNTAIN – A winter storm warning for up to six inches of snow is in effect for Dickinson County until 6 p.m. tonight.

Iron, Florence, and Marinette counties are under a less severe winter weather advisory for the same time period.

Residents of all four counties can expect snow accumulations between three to five inches, with isolated areas receiving up to six inches.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), the worst conditions are expected to be in the area from Iron Mountain to Gwinn.

NWS warns that travel may become difficult during the afternoon with snow-covered roads and visibility reduced to between a quarter-mile and a half-mile.
