Support the road diet
As an Iron Mountain business owner located on Carpenter Avenue, I support the road diet proposal. I travel the full length of Carpenter Avenue several times a day and feel the additional time that may be added to the drive will be an insignificant imposition.
America is too heavily dependent on automobile use and the most progressive livable communities are facilitating bicycle and pedestrian travel as safe healthy alternatives.
However, the road diet’s ability to greatly improve safety and reduce accidents should be the overwhelming consideration of our community to support the change. In the end, the reduction of serious injury or maybe even death is well worth an insignificant travel delay.
