Boards plan meetings today

The Dickinson County Board of Commissioners will meet at 6:30 tonight in the circuit courtroom of the courthouse.
The agenda includes the annual report from Dickinson County Mine Inspector Steve Smith and a request from Sheriff Scott Celello to repair showers in the jail.
The Niagara School District Board of Education will meet today at 5:30 p.m. in the high school learning materials center, 700 Jefferson Ave. in Niagara.
New business includes approval of the number of regular and special education spaces available for open enrollment for the 2014-15 school year, retirement of Gail Capra, French teacher; school calendar for 2014-15, resignation of the softball coach, and administrators’ reports.
A closed session is also planned to discuss staffing for the 2014-15 school year.
The Florence County School District Board of Education will meet today at 5 p.m. in Room 215 of the high school.
New business on the agenda includes open enrollment seats available, set day for referendum committee, nutrition policy committee, asset disposal policy and school calendar policy, sick leave daily increments and sick day bank, teacher retirements, extra-curricular resignation and physical education graduation requirement. The board will also discuss support staff sub pay under old business.
A closed session is planned to discuss Florence Education Association negotiations, personnel, and consideration of staffing/contracts/compensation.
Prior to the board meeting, there will be a buildings-grounds committee meeting in Room 215 of the high school at 2:30 p.m. and a negotiations committee meeting at 3:30 p.m. in Room 218 of the high school.
