PHOENIX – Melba Gloris (Martini) Stork went to be with our Lord on Jan. 15, 2014, at the age of 92, in Phoenix.
Melba was born in Caspian on June 12, 1921. She graduated from Stambaugh High School.
Melba was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who took great pleasure spending time with her family and friends. She loved to travel, read and crochet.
She and her husband lived in Oregon for more than 44 years, but spent the majority of their winters in Arizona.
Melba had an unwavering faith in God and was a member of St. James Catholic Church in McMinnville, Ore.
She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Robert (Bob) Stork; twin daughters, Janet Stork Thayer of Paradise Valley, Ariz. and Susan Ann Brandt of Lincoln City, Ore. and their husbands, Dr. Elton Thayer and Michael Scott Brandt; grandchildren and spouses, Mandy Brandt Callery and her husband Jeremy of El Dorado Hills, Calif., Lauren Thayer Dudley and her husband Drew of Mansfield, Texas, and Adam S. Thayer of Phoenix; and great-grandchildren, Ethan and Tatum Callery.
Her brother, Arthur Martini (Stambaugh) and Linda Martini Daly (Rochester, Minn.) preceded Melba in death.
A private memorial Mass will be held at a later date.
