There’s another football coach making the move to radio sportscasting.

Forest Park’s Bill Santilli assisted lead announcer Troy Margoni for WIKB’s call of Lexi Gussert’s milestone basketball game. The Trojans state championship coach switched from analyst to play-by-play for the fourth quarter.

“Troy asked if I’d like to give it a try,” Santilli said. “I thought the offer would be interesting and challenging.

“It is surprising how fast-paced a basketball game is when you’re trying to describe the details of what is taking place to the listening audience.”

Dickinson County’s Randy VanGasse and Brad Grayvold have already made the successful transition from football sidelines to radio.

Lexi registered her 2,143rd career point as the Lady Trojans defeated Bark River-Harris. She broke the scoring mark for both U.P. girls and boys.

By the way, a high-profile fan may be in the crowd for Forest Park’s game at Iron Mountain Monday …
