Girl Scout Cookie Program has started
IRON MOUNTAIN – America’s favorite cookies are once again available throughout northern Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. This year’s Girl Scout Cookie Program will run through March 23 with door-to door sales in January and February, and troops hosting cookie booths in March.
The Girl Scout Cookie Program helps girls develop essential business skills, such as decision making, goal setting, money management, business ethics, and people skills. All proceeds from the Cookie Program stay local; the girls receive a percentage based on how much they’ve sold, and the remainder goes to the local Girl Scout Council, which helps fund Girl Scout programming and services.
This year, Girl Scouts will be offering a new cookie, Cranberry Citrus Crisps.
All girls in grades K-12 can still join Girl Scouts to take part in the Cookie Program, making them eligible for numerous events, trips, and programs throughout the year.
The cost of Girl Scout cookies remains at $3.50 per box, and proceeds support local Girl Scout programs. Contact the Cookie Hotline at 1-800-246-4171 or visit www.girlscoutcookies.org to find cookies near you.
