Mark Steven Cadieux

CRYSTAL FALLS – Mark Steven Cadieux, son of Elizabeth (Lakenen) and the late John Cadieux, beloved husband to Jane Cadieux, father, grandfather, brother, and nephew, born Aug. 18, 1959, in Jamestown, N.D., died unexpectedly, but peacefully in his sleep Friday, Jan. 3, 2014, at the age of 54.

Mark’s greatest joys were his deeply loved wife, Jane; his children, Christene, Jacob and Sarah; his step-sons, Paul, Christopher and William; as well as his grandchildren, his mother, and his loyal companion and four-legged friend, Marlee. Mark never missed calling his mother on Monday mornings at 8 o’clock.

As a master craftsman and artisan, Mark brought joy and beauty to the lives and homes of others. He was the owner and operator of Wooden It Be Nice of Crystal Falls. Mark and Jane together created beautiful furniture that will endure as examples of his skill for decades to come. He lived a quiet, simple life with Jane, enjoying the home they built, long walks in the woods and whispering to the deer that wandered into his woodworking studio.

Mark loved the outdoors and was always quick to point out the howl of a lonely wolf or the flick of a fleeing hummingbird. Mark’s children remember a father with a quick sense of humor and a generous heart. He was always there to lend a hand or a comforting shoulder to lean on.

Mark will be deeply, profoundly and eternally missed by his wife, Jane; children, Jacob Cadieux (Winona, Minn.), Christene and Brad Tupper (Menominee), Sarah Cadieux (Green Bay, Wis.); step-children, William and Stacie Belanger (Green Bay), Christopher Belanger (Green Bay), Paul and Stephanie Belanger (Australia); mother, Elizabeth (Lakenen) Cadieux (Green Bay); siblings, Michelle and Dick Tibbs (Placentia, Calif.), Amy and Bruce Luebke (Portage, Wis.), Angela and Karl Farnung (Kansas City, Mo.), Scott Cadieux (Green Bay), Jonathan and Cherie Cadieux (Green Bay); motherin-law, Sylvia Schultz; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mary and Tom Hooker, Jim and Gail Schultz, Carol and Tom Kelsey, Tom and Debbie Schultz, Judy and Mike Seibert, Joe and Julie Schultz; special uncles, Ray Lakenen (Marquette) and Richard Cadieux (Alabama); 14 grandchildren, Gabriel, Anika, Malena, Kale, Sophia, Bli, Jamie, Faith, Brock, Hope, Autumn, Seth, Gabriele, Austin; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Mark was preceded in death by his father, John B. Cadieux; grandparents, Alice and William Lakenen, and Amy and Kenneth Cadieux; many beloved aunts and uncles.

Friends and family are encouraged to gather at Ryan Funeral Home, 305 North Tenth Street, De Pere, WI on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., when a memorial service will be held with Deacon Mike Vander Bloomen officiating.
