IRON MOUNTAIN – Marilyn A. Hallman, 81, of Bass Lake in Breitung Township, died Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013, at her home.
She was born April 25, 1932, in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late Morris and Helen (Gianunzio) Gorrell. Marilyn was a lifelong resident of this area and graduated from Iron Mountain High School in 1950.
She married Gerald Hallman on June 9, 1951. Marilyn worked as a sales clerk for Colenso’s Clothing store and several other local retailers for more than 20 years.
She loved all animals, but especially horses. Over the years, she was very involved in raising and showing horses, both Appaloosa and Quarter Horses.
She was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Marshall Holland.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Gerald; three children, Randy (Jackie) Hallman of Breitung Township, Jill Selleck of Lansing, and Chris Hallman of Breitung Township; two sisters, Phyllis “Honey” Holland of Kingsford and Karen (Joe) Fortner of Iron Mountain; five grandchildren, Haley (Paul) Magwood, Sarah Selleck, Bryan (Samantha) Selleck, Giana Nieto, and a special grandson, Chase Hallman; and four great grandchildren.
In accordance with Marilyn’s wishes, private family services will be held.
