Deliberations begin in IR CSC trial

CRYSTAL FALLS – The jury in the criminal sexual conduct trial against Dennis Johnson began deliberations Wednesday afternoon.
Johnson, 55, is facing three felony counts of criminal sexual conduct-first degree and two felony counts of criminal sexual conduct-second degree in Iron County Trial Court.
He is accused of having sexual contact with three underage girls between 2002 and 2010 in Iron River.
Iron County Prosecutor Melissa Powell said that she wrapped up her case Wednesday morning. Johnson then testified on his own behalf before the jury got the case at about 4:30 p.m., she added.

If Johnson is convicted on the first degree counts, he must spend between 25 years to life in prison. The second degree counts carry a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison.
