Nancy Chellew

NORWAY – Nancy Chellew, 74, of Norway, passed away surrounded by her family on Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013, at her home in Norway.

She was born in Norway on June 26, 1939, the daughter of the late Winston and Eleanor (Douglas) Wills.

Nancy graduated from Norway High School in 1957.

She married Roy Chellew Sr. on Feb. 15, 1958, at Grace United Methodist Church in Norway.

Nancy worked as a nurse’s aide at the Anderson Memorial Hospital in Norway for many years.

Nancy was a very active member of Grace United Methodist Church, belonging to the Woman’s Guild and the Church Choir.

She was a traveler of the United States and proud to call herself a Navy man’s wife. She loved gardening, making pasties, singing in the church choir and was very patriotic. She loved her family with all her heart and will be greatly missed.

Nancy is survived by her husband of 56 years, Roy; her sons, Michael (Susie) Chellew, Roy Chellew Jr., Bryan (Lisa) Chellew, and Matt (Tori) Chellew, all of Norway; daughters, Debbie (Ross) Jenkins of Felch and Patty (Jerry) Grenfell of Powers; grandchildren, Christopher, Liz, Nathan, Mike, Tonya, Kyle, Kelsey, Kaylin, Stacy, Mandy, Shannon, Tyler, Maddie, Brenda, Nancy, Tim, Nick, Lance and Brad; many great-grandchildren; brothers, Peter (Mary Ann) Wills of Peshtigo, Wis., Doug (Helen) Wills of DePere Wis., Edward Wills of Milwaukee, Jim (Peggy) Wills of Pequot Lake, Minn. and Tom (Jane) Wills of Arlington, Va.; sisters, Jackie (Ron) Menghini of Loretto, Sally (Gary) Arcand of Norway, Jane Gray of Menominee and Susie (Dave) Pinter of Lansing; and many nieces and nephews.

Family will greet friends on Friday, Dec. 13, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church in Norway.

Memorial services will be held on Friday at 5 p.m. at the church with Pastor Irene White officiating.

Memorial Contributions may be made in Nancy’s name to Grace United Methodist Church Camp Michigamme.
