IRON MOUNTAIN – Lucille M. “Lu” Emond, 86, of Iron Mountain, died Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013, at her home.
She was born on May 15, 1927, the daughter of the late Charles and Freida (LeGreve) LeDocq Sr. She graduated from Kingsford High School in 1945.
Lu married Norbert “Bing” Emond on June 23, 1949, at American Martyrs Catholic Church in Kingsford. The couple owned and operated Twin Pine Lumber Co. from 1963 until their retirement in 1988. He preceded her in death in 2008.
Lu enjoyed life and was a very kind and caring person. She was a very loving wife and mother. Lu also enjoyed spending time at camp.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Denny Trewartha of Iron Mountain; two sisters, Lillian Rodgers of Kingsford and Marge Gunville of Niagara, Wis.; one brother, Wilford LeDocq of Joliet, Ill.; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and one great-great-niece.
Lu was preceded in death by two brothers, Gilford LeDocq and Charles LeDocq Jr.; and two sisters, Annabelle Trulock and Arlene Harper.
At Lu’s request, private family services will be held.
