QUINNESEC – Evelyn J. Yaggie, 82, of Quinnesec, died Thursay, Dec. 5, 2013, at Aurora Bay Care Medical Center.
She was born on Aug. 25, 1931, in Iron Mountain, the daughter of the late Henry and Olive (Meyers) Ehlers. She attended Kingsford schools and graduated from Kingsford High School in 1949.
On Dec. 19, 1969, Evelyn married Raymond Yaggie in Iron Mountain. The couple shared almost 44 wonderful years together.
Evelyn worked for Trico Opportunities for 14 years, retiring in 2001. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles and her computer.
She is survived by her loving husband, Ray; her children, Bob and Linda Peronto of High Point, N.C., Tom and Dar Peronto of San Diego, Bill and Sumol Peronto of Schererville, Ind., Susan Peronto and her long time companion Jennifer Pace and her daughter Cassie of Iron Mountain, and Jeanne and Al Sexton of Kingsford; and her grandchildren, Chris and Patrice Peronto of Durham, N.C., Aaron and Christy Peronto of Waxham, N.C., Nikki and Jesse Capitanio of Rumsey, Calif., Melissa and Mark Fisher of Valparaiso, Ind., Jacki and Johnny O’Hagan of Las Vegas, and two very special grandchildren, Raelyn and Ed Sexton, both of Kingsford. She also leaves her great-grandchildren, Maddie Peronto, Owen Peronto, Jaxon O’Hagan, Liam Fisher, and Edie Capitanio; one sister, Margaret Wallace of Hallowell, Maine; and her dear friend, Janice Trumble of Kingsford.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Henry, Pat, John, and Tom Ehlers; and two sisters, Catherine Cristanelli and Mary Holmquist.
At Evelyn’s request there will be private family services. Burial will be in Quinnesec Cemetery. Her grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
