For such a great season
To Forest Park School District volleyball and football teams for such a great season. The 2013 Class D regional champion Forest Park Trojans volleyball team finished their season at 31-2-5. The Trojans fell to seven-time defending state champions Battle Creek St. Philip in the state semifinals. The Forest Park football team finished at 12-1. They were defeated by Beal City in the MHSAA Division 8 state semifinal at the Superior Dome.
To the motorists in the area who drive as if the pavement is clear and dry evening during a snowstorm. They are an accident waiting to happen.
To the community organizations that help spread cheer during the holiday season, including the city of Norway’s annual Christmas Parade and Fireworks that was held on Friday, Dickinson County Community Chorus 47th annual “Sounds of Christmas” concert on Monday and Tuesday, the 4th Annual Christmas in Florence event that is being held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. today in downtown Florence, and the annual Downtown Christmas Walk in Iron Mountain on Saturday, Dec. 14.
From Adrienne Grunlund-Black of Cincinnati: My experience with Erickson-Rochon-Nash Funeral Home was far beyond exceptional. Having lost my dad in April of 2011 very unexpectedly I had never even thought about ever having to plan an actual funeral. I prefer to plan parties myself. You know, the kind with appetizers and umbrella drinks. But there I was, selecting which “scene” I would like for his memorial card (if you knew my dad, you would know – I picked the one with the wildlife) and talking about what I wanted to do with his ashes. I joke a bit now, time has helped, but I really remember feeling at ease, comforted and able to go at my own pace. Today, years later I work for a non-profit in Cincinnati that supports children and families who have lost a loved one (fernside.org). I sure have taken a lesson from my experience with Erickson-Rochon-Nash when I talk to my families now. So thank you two-fold. I could make this thank you go on sentence after sentence about how wonderful Butch Schinderle was to work with, but let’s be honest it’s Iron Mountain and you all know what a great guy he is. So I will just say, thank you for making the very best of a very difficult time for me.
