Body found by hunters identified

MENOMINEE – Officials have identified the body that was found by deer hunters on Nov. 15 in Menominee County’s Cedarville Township.

Menominee County Sheriff Kenny Marks said that the body has been identified as 44-year-old Gerod F. Prince of Milwaukee.

According to Marks, there were no signs of foul play and the Menominee County Medical Examiner’s Office deemed the cause of death as exposure.

Prince had been reported as a voluntary missing person in September, Marks added.

The body was handled by Anderson-Diehm Funeral Home and will be released to immediate family in Milwaukee.

Assisting in the investigation were the Michigan Department of Natural Resources Conservation Officers, Milwaukee Police Department, Menominee County Medical Examiner’s Office, and Marinette Police Department.
