MENOMINEE – The body discovered by deer hunters on Nov. 15 in Menominee County’s Cedarville Township has been identified, Sheriff Kenny Marks announced.
The remains have been identified as Gerod F. Prince, 44, of Milwaukee.
Further investigation, also revealed there were no signs of foul play and the Menominee County Medical Examiner’s Office deemed the cause of death as exposure, Sheriff Marks said.
At approximately 10:40 a.m. on Nov. 15, deer hunters discovered the human remains on state of Michigan land in Cedarville Township.
Deputies from the Menominee County Sheriff’s Department and Conversation Officers from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources responded to the scene and recovered the human remains at that location.
Contact with the Milwaukee Police Department showed Prince had been reported as a voluntary missing person in September 2013.
The body was handled by Anderson-Diehm Funeral Home and will be released to the immediate family in Milwaukee, Marks said.
Also assisting in this investigation was the Milwaukee Police Department and the Marinette Police Department.
