Breach of trust

The Wall Street Journal, which tells the truth, has had a few enlightening articles recently. I’ve mentioned some of them.

The Obama administration is once again using taxpayer monies to fund green energy companies. The Department Of Energy pushed out the door another $66 million in green energy subsidies to 33 companies and research facilities. Nearly 30 percent went to three companies, LanzaTech, Greenlight Biosciences and Coskata.

A company named Range Fuels received $46 million from the Energy Department and $40 million from the Department of Agriculture, (paying back $2 million before being forced to liquidate – the government losing more than $80 million on Range Fuels. This political investing perviously took the taxpayers for $535 million on Solyndra, $249 million on A123 systems and $529 million on Fisker Automotive.

Big dollar grants seem to flow to companies backed by the same handful of politically connected venture firms. Taxpayers learn later that the subsidies always seem to for to the rich and powerful who finance the Democratic Party. It’s a cozy arrangement, politically drafted, by sinister politicians.

ObamaCare epitomizes what this president stands for, broken promises. It all starts by telling the truth, which eludes this administration. During the health debate honesty would have made the law even harder to pass. Mr. Obama continued to make a claim he knew to be false. He intoned, “If you like your health plan you can keep your health plan.” Sometimes he even added that “No one will take it away, no matter what” or “Nothing will change, period.” This is a serious breach of trust with the American people.

There are 18 new taxes in ObamaCare. The IRS is responsible for implementing 47 ObamaCare provisions. The IRS wants to devote 1,954 full-time bureaucrats and $439,584,000 in new spending to ObamaCare implementation. Bottom line, – don’t trust this administration. The American people will end up on the short end every time.

American spying on its allies is another Obama drama. They are defensive as usual saying they are reviewing the evidence and NSA procedures as if the NSA works for some other government. The real problem is the failure of Mr. Obama to defend the programs he has been using so robustly since taking office 5 years ago. He can’t blame this on George W. Bush.

Even the Saudis have turned their back on Obama. They have decided the United States is no longer a reliable partner in Middle Eastern affairs. The Saudi king watched Mr. Obama’s red line over Assad’s use of chemical weapons disappear into an about face deal with Vladimir Putin. Subsequently their intelligence chief, Prince Bandar let it be known that the Saudis intend to distance themselves from the U.S.

Why should Americans or any formerly friendly foreign government trust Obama? His credibility is disappearing because he can’t play it straight. House Budget chairman Paul Ryan, his Senate partner Patty Murray along with Marco Rubio say that immigration reform could die because of the fear that Mr. Obama will urge the process forward in public and then blow up any agreement at the 11th hour with deal-killing demand for greater tax revenue. This, of course, includes Sen. Harry Reid, the other part of the gruesome two-some with Obama.

As a candidate, Barack Obama said: “I promise 100 percent transparency in my administration:” “I will allow five days of public comment before I sign any bills,” “I’ll put the health care negotiations on C-SPAN so everyone can see who is at the table.”

President Obama violated every one of these pledges that he made to the American people. President Obama is a real hypocrite. It’s no wonder foreign governments have learned to distrust him.
