Local boards meet tonight

The Dickinson County Board of Commissioners will meet at 6:30 tonight in the circuit courtroom of the courthouse.

The agenda includes the appointment of two county board members to a subcommittee of the Dickinson County Healthcare System Board of Trustees to explore partnership opportunities for the hospital system.

The Breitung Township Board will meet today at 7 p.m. in the board room of the township offices in Quinnesec.

Old business includes a presentation on the Badwater Trails and fire tanker recommendations.

Under new business, the board will discuss delinquent water/sewer/refuse accounts, CUPPAD resolution and letter of support, firefighter training agreement, code enforcement officer request and resolution for the acceptance of payments by credit/debit cards.

The Florence School District Board of Education will meet today at 5 p.m. in Room 215 of the high school.

Old business on the agenda includes the referendum committee, waste disposal bids and elementary walk-in cooler/freezer bids.

Under new business, the board will give final approval for the 2013-14 budget modifications and 2013-14 budget and tax levy, discuss mascot and colors for athletic coop with Niagara, posting varsity coaching vacancies and board policies for student use of beepers and student suspension.

A closed session is also planned to discuss staffing, contract, and compensation.
