Nordics sweep Carney

CARNEY – North Dickinson, in a make-up match, held off Carney-Nadeau 25-22, 26-24, 25-22 in Skyline volleyball here Monday night.

“Carney played us hard,” Nordics coach Sandy Haustein said. “We were luck to come out with the win.”

Haustein said the Nordics serving provided the difference in the match. Leading the way there was Kimberly Cary, who was 22-for-22 at the serving line with 17 points and seven aces.

“She had a good night,” Haustein said. “She really played a good all-around game.”

Cary also finished with six kills. Chelsey Stroud provided seven kills, as did Lexi Steele. Gina Rotter went 14-for-14 serving with nine points.

The Nordics only missed five serves in the match.

“Our serving held us in the match,” Haustein said.

Nordics, now 11-2 in league play, play at Rapid River tonight.
