Concept of standardizing education
Are you aware of what your school may be teaching?
Have you heard of Common Core?
The concept of standardizing education does sound good. But I would encourage you to do some research.
Ask yourself these questions.
Do you think your child’s teacher should be able to be flexible and adjust to the students and class needs?
Do you think the administration should be able to be flexible and adjust to the students and class needs?
Do you think the school board should be able to do what is best for your child?
Do you think you should be able to go to a school board meeting or to a teacher to express your concerns and have them addressed?
Common Core does not provide for this.
The state of Wisconsin is holding public hearings on continuing Common Core.
Check out the web site below to become enlightened, then “google” “common core” to get more information, fightcommoncore.com.
Take the time to watch the videos in the “fight common core” link and take notes.
After researching, ask yourself, can you accept the items you do not like in Common Core, and is this the future you want for your children? If not, get involved. Contact your school.
