IRON RIVER – Cheryl A. Taylor, 63, of Iron River, passed away, Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born July 29, 1950, in Libertyville, Ill., daughter of the late Virgil and Laverne (Ballerstaedt) Skoglund.
Cheryl grew up in Grayslake, Ill. She married Charles Taylor on Aug. 14, 1998. They moved around the United States, living in several places, and finally made their home in Iron River in 2008.
Cheryl enjoyed many hobbies, including sewing, working on the computer, taking care of her dogs and especially spending time with family and friends.
Cheryl is survived by her loving husband of 15 years, Charles Taylor of Iron River; three brothers, Roger (Colette) Skoglund of Fort Meyers, Fla., Robert (Tammy) Skoglund of Caspian, and Ronald (Erin) Skoglund of Romulus; four sisters, Susan Bergstrom of Lake Villa, Ill., Karen (Tony) Segretti of Vernon Hills, Ill., Linda (Damon) Nasser of Iron River, and Debra (Roger) Bloom of Iron River; two granddaughters, Ashley Lockwood of Boise, Idaho and Raeanna Simpson of Lake Havasu, Ariz; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Cheryl was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth Kidd; one brother, Richard Skoglund; and one sister, Laurel Cooper.
A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, Oct. 26, at 11 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Iron River. Pastor Bonnie Kinnunen will officiate.
