FLORENCE, Wis. – Dean Gary Larson, 43, of Florence and formerly of Black River Falls, Wis., died Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013, in Iron Mountain, from injuries he sustained in an electrical accident while working for Florence Utilities.
Dean was born in Appleton, Wis., on Feb. 12, 1970. He was raised in Black River Falls and graduated from Black River Falls High School in 1988. Following high school, he attended lineman school at Chippewa Valley Technical School in Eau Claire, WIs.
He married Gina Marie Larson in Black River Falls on June 17, 1995.
Dean worked at Dairyland Power in LaCrosse, and for 10-years, he was employed at Hartford Power and Light Co., where he received his Journeyman’s License. He served as safety director for MEUW, and was currently employed at Florence Utilities.
His greatest joy was spending time with his son, Bryce. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, 4-wheeling, playing video games, watching the Packers and Badgers, and making smoked vension sausage.
Surviving are his wife, Gina; his son, Bryce; and his mother and step-dad, Nancy and David “Pudge” Olson of Black River Falls.
He was preceded in death by his dad, Gary Larson; his paternal grandparents, Palmer and Victoria Larson; his maternal grandparents, Wallace and Janice Larson; and an aunt, Barbara Larson.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13, at Riverside Cemetery in Black River Falls. Services will be conducted by Pastor John Cowles.
A reception and celebration of Dean’s Life will be held following the service at Skyline Golf Course in Black River Falls.
