IRON MOUNTAIN – Dennis W. Anderson, 67, of Iron Mountain, passed away on Monday, Sept. 30, 2013, at his home.
Dennis was born on Aug. 4, 1946, in Escanaba, son of the late Walter and Irene (Milkiewicz) Anderson, and was a lifelong resident of the area.
He served four years in the United States Navy. His service included tours aboard an assault boat in Vietnam. Dennis received the National Defense Service Medal and was honorably discharged from the Navy as an E-4 in 1971.
He worked for many years in housekeeping and food service at the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain, finally retiring in 2006.
Uncle Denny was a kind hearted and proud Navy veteran and an avid Green Bay Packers fan. He also enjoyed trips to the casino.
He is survived by his brother and sister, Gary (Cudder) Anderson of Iron Mountain and Lani (Patrick) Miller of Kingsford; nephews, Matt (Elizabeth) Anderson of North Carolina, Gary (Olive) Anderson of Virginia, Joshua (Erin) Anderson of Escanaba; and a niece, Cassandra Anderson of Minnesota.
Visitation will be Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home.
Memorial services will follow Saturday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
The Uren-Cooper-Johnson American Legion Post 50 will accord military honors.
