Dulcie M. Aho
CRYSTAL FALLS – Dulcie M. Aho, 75, of Crystal Falls, passed away on Friday, Sept. 27, 2013. at the Iron County Medical Care Facility in Crystal Falls.
She was born May 27, 1938, in Crystal Falls, daughter of the late Arvo and Lillian (Koivu) Hautala. Dulcie graduated from Crystal Falls High School in 1956 and was a lifelong resident of the area.
She married Gerald “Jerry” Aho on June 7, 1958, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Crystal Falls.
She was employed for nearly 40 years at the Iron County Medical Care Facility, retiring in 1993. Dulcie was a member of the United Lutheran Church in Crystal Falls where she served on the altar guild. She was also a longtime member of the Iron County 4-H.
Dulcie enjoyed watching birds and animals, flower gardening and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.
Dulcie is survived by her husband of 55 years, Jerry; two daughters, Shellie Furmanski and Sally (Will) Ross, both of Crystal Falls; son, Bill (Jeanelle) Hautala of Crystal Falls; five grandchildren, Jenna, Ashley, Zach, Hannah and Toby; and several nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, William Hautala; a nephew, Brian Hautala; and a son-in-law, Steve Furmanski.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Nash Funeral Home in Crystal Falls and on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at United Lutheran Church in Crystal Falls.
Funeral services will be on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the church. Rev. Micheal Laakko will officiate.
Burial will be in Hematite Township Cemetery.
