Boards plan meetings today

The Dickinson County Board of Commissioners will meet at 6:30 tonight in the circuit courtroom of the courthouse.

The agenda includes a recommendation to continue to keep the Crystal Lake Senior Center independent of the YMCA but in the future to discuss the parking lot boundary; a request from the library board to levy 0.9 mills for 2014; and a proposal from Integrys to be the county’s natural gas supplier.

The Breitung Township Board will meet today at 7 p.m. in the board room of the township offices in Quinnesec.

Under new business, the board will discuss a request for proposals, Badwater recreation trails project and Fume Lake Drive and Timber Lane Drive road projects with bids available at the meeting.

The Norway City Council will meet today at 7 p.m. in the board meeting room of the city hall building, 915 Main St. in Norway.

A public hearing is planned on an application for an industrial facilities exemption certification for Loadmaster Corp. and a hearing to vacate the right-of-way on 13th Avenue between Brown and Hillcrest streets just north of lot 7 and the alleys in block 7 of the plat of the village of Norway.

Other items on the agenda include a resolution to vacate the right-of-way and resolution to grant the industrial facilities exemption certificate; approval of a zoning ordinance amendment with a petition filed by Ron Milbrath representing Danielson’s Greenhouse; approval of the sale of 39.56 acres of city-owned property in Wisconsin to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources; purchase a component to rebuild the large snow blower and approval of a rescue tool for the fire department.

The Florence County School District Board of Education will meet today at 5 p.m. for the regular meeting in the high school in Room 215.

Old business on the agenda includes transportation and school board meeting dates for the next three months.

New business includes a walk-in cooler for the elementary school building, property insurance and an open enrollment exception.

A closed session is also planned to discuss personnel and consideration of staffing/contracts/compensation.

The annual meeting of the board will start at 7 p.m. in the high school/middle school auditorium.

The agenda includes a presentation and hearing on the budget, resolution for adoption on the tax levy as well as other annual business.
