Diane Rochon

GOODMAN, Wis. – Diane (Chitko) Rochon, 57, of Goodman, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013, at Unity Hospice in De Pere following a courageous 13-year battle with M.S.

She was born April 1, 1956, in Laona, Wis., daughter of the late Stanley and Mary (Pisczor) Chitko. Diane graduated from Goodman Armstrong Creek High School in 1974 and went on to obtain a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.

She was employed by the Goodman Armstrong Creek School District for 24 years as a music teacher and band director, retiring in 2002. Diane was a talented musician and played several instruments. Her fall concerts were always well attended and enjoyed by the community.

Diane was a member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church. She enjoyed attending concerts at performing arts centers, playing cribbage, puzzles, baking and crafts. She loved the outdoors and spent timebird watching and tending to flowers. Most of all, Diane loved being a grandma.

She is survived by a daughter, Nicole (Jason) Briesemeister of De Pere, Wis.; a granddaughter, Adilyn Briesemeister; four siblings, Barb (Quinn) Vanden Heuvel of Appleton, Wis., Robert (Catherine) Chitko, Stanley Jr. (Kathy) Chitko and twin Dennis Chitko, all of Armstrong Creek; and many nieces and nephews.

Diane was preceded in death by a niece, Kara Chitko.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday at the Armstrong Creek Community Center in Armstrong Creek, followed by a prayer service at 6 p.m. with Deacon Jerry Cross officiating.

Visitation will also be held on Monday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church in Armstrong Creek. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. on Monday at the church. Msgr. Paul Koszarek will offer the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery in Armstrong Creek.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in her memory.
