CASPIAN – Rosella M. Brozak, 92, of Caspian, passed away Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013, at Northstar Health System in Iron River.
She was born Jan. 20, 1921, in Hardwood, daughter of the late Louis and Emma (Peronto) Siegler. She attended the Pershing in Hardwood, Longfellow School in Foster City, and graduated from Felch High School in 1938.
Rosella married Michael S. Brozak on May 23, 1941, in Foster City. The couple resided in Crystal Falls and Big Bay before moving back to Hardwood to operate a grocery store. In 1956 they moved to Iron River where Rosella worked for Sweet Corner Grocery for 18 years, Angeli Foods, and the Clog Factory. In later years she worked for the Community Action Agency. Rosella retired 1982.
She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church of Iron River, St. Agnes Altar Society, Daughters of Isabella, Eagles Auxiliary and Mother’s Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael in June 1984; infant sons, Terry Glenn and Michael Patrick; brothers, Louis and Elmer Siegler; sisters, Ruby Cousineau, Garnet Moore, Crystal Robinette and Myrtle McGuire.
She is survived by her son, Michael G. (Lois) Brozak of Iron River; daughter, Roxanne Petsin of Kenosha, Wis.; sister, Violet Kossman of Fresno, Calif.; six grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Sept. 18, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron River.
Funeral services will follow Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Iron River.
Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Crystal Falls.
