June H. Andreoli
KINGSFORD – June H. Andreoli, 99, of Kingsford, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013, at ManorCare Health Serivces.
She was born June 20, 1914, in Brazeau Village, Wis., daughter of the late George and Sophia (Porier) Brazeau. She married John Canavera on Dec. 2, 1939. He was killed in action during World War II in 1944. June married Nello Andreoli on Oct. 20, 1962, and he preceded her in death in 2001.
She was employed as a cook with Breitung Township Schools for many years and was a member of American Martyrs Catholic Church. June loved tending to her flower garden, knitting and quilting. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed baking. Most of all she loved her family, grandbabies, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. June’s loving ways and smiling face will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
June is survived by a son, Larry (Mary Beth) Canavera; a step-daughter, Judy (Paul) Schofield; five grandchildren, Tina Schultz, Carrie Backlund, John Canavera, Chris and Danny Schofield; five great-grandchildren, Nick and Emily Schultz, Ben Backlund, and Sofia and Gabriella Schofield; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husbands, June was preceded in death by an infant son, Robert Canavera; four brothers, George, Russel, Lloyd and Felix Brazeau; and two sisters, Mildred Lessor and Olive Suchan.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. Thursday at American Martyrs Catholic Church in Kingsford. Fr. Joseph Gouin will offer the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in Iron Mountain Cemetery Park.
The family would like to thank the staff at ManorCare Health Services for all the special care given to June while she was a resident there.
Pallbearers will be John Canavera, Tom Quick, Steve Conery, Dick Suchan, and Leonard and Rick Lessor.
