NIAGARA, Wis. – Ronald Dean Henry, 78, of Niagara, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on Sept. 28, 1934, in Iron Mountain, son of the late Wesley and Gertrude (Truinstra) Henry. He married Jacqueline Abraham on Sept. 26, 1959, in Marinette, Wis.
Ron served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1956 during the Korean War. After being honorably discharged, he worked for Wisconsin Public Service as a lineman until his retirement in 1997.
A former resident of Marinette, Ronald and Jackie built a log home in Niagara in 2000, where they enjoyed retirement on the lake.
Ron is survived by his loving wife, Jackie; four sons and 10 grandchildren, Bjorn (Stacy) Henrickson of Manitowoc, Wis., and their children, Brooke, Justin, Olivia, Landon and Luke; Eric (Karen) Henry of Albany, Wis., and their children, Zachary, Kaitlynn, and Rylan; Mark (Lisa) Henry of Woodruff, Wis., and their children Brennan and Seth; and Mike Henry of Green Bay, Wis. He is further survived by a sister, Marjorie Knutson of Marinette; and a brother, Wesley (Kathy) Henry of Peshtigo, Wis.
In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by a sister, Jean LaPlant.
Visitation will be Saturday, Aug. 31, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Grace Baptist Church in Kingsford.
Funeral services will follow Saturday at 4 p.m. at the church. Rev. Wynne Kimbrough will officiate.
Burial will be in Glenwood Memorial Gardens in Marinette.
