Categories listed for Dickinson County Fair cooking contest

NORWAY – The Dickinson County Fair will be hosting a cooking contest at this year’s event.

Beckie Nord, Fair’s cooking superintendent, has announced the 2013 classes are as follows:

Friday, Aug. 30

11 a.m. – Cold pasta salad

1:30 p.m. – Meatloaf

Saturday, Aug. 31

11 a.m. – Breakfast muffin

1:30 p.m. – Potato soup

Sunday, Sept. 1

11 a.m. – Coleslaw

1:30 p.m. – Spaghetti sauce with pasta

Monday, Sept. 2

11 a.m. – Pie

All entries are due 24 hours before their event.

The contest is open to all Dickinson County residents. Persons may enter one or more classes.

Each prepared dish will be judged with ribbons and cash prizes awarded.

“A trophy will be awarded to the best overall cook of the fair,” said Nord.
