FLORENCE, Wis. – The Aging and Disability Resource Center of Florence County is sponsoring a Medicare Seminar featuring Sam Johnson, Medigap counselor of the State of Wisconsin Board on Aging and Long Term Care, on Friday, Aug. 30, at the Florence Natural Resource & Interpretive Center beginning at 10 a.m.
Medicare coverage and Medicare supplements are subjects that many seniors struggle to find answers to. Sam Johnson is an expert with the State of Wisconsin on Medicare coverage and how Medicare Supplements can help seniors fit all the pieces of their Medicare puzzle together.
Mr. Johnson will present a seminar for Florence County seniors that helps beneficiaries understand what a Medicare supplement is compared to the other Medicare Health options available.
The seminar is ideal for people who will be turning 65 in the upcoming months and will be newly eligible for Medicare, but it will also be very helpful to any Medicare beneficiary who has questions or concerns on the newly complicated Medicare options and benefits.
The Board on Aging and Long Term Care has also launched its Medigap Part D and Prescription Drug Helpline. Counselors are now available to assist callers age 60 and over with questions related to prescription drug insurance, including Medicare Part D and SeniorCare.
Counselors will also aid callers in exploring other coverage options for prescription drugs.
The upcoming seminar has been scheduled for anyone 60 years of age and older at the Natural Resource Center, lower rear entrance from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on August 30.
The seminar is free and open to the public but reservations are encouraged. Attendees can pre-register by calling 715-528-4890.
