CRYSTAL FALLS – An Iron River woman accused of embezzling money from an elderly woman in Crystal Falls Township has entered a not guilty plea to the charge.
April Marie Stine, 33, faces one felony count of embezzlement from a vulnerable adult-between $1,000 and $20,000.
If convicted, she could spend up to five years in prison.
During an appearance in Iron County Trial Court on this week, Stine elected to waive her preliminary examination.
Judge C. Joseph Schwedler then bound her over to the circuit court level, where she entered the not guilty plea.
A pre-trial in the matter is scheduled for Sept. 9.
According to the criminal complaint in the case, the alleged embezzlement occurred between April 11 and June 18 in Crystal Falls Township.
