Councils, boards meet this week

The Iron Mountain City Council will meet today at 6:30 p.m. in the council room of the city hall building, 501 S. Stephenson Ave. in Iron Mountain.
The council will consider a request for city-owned land purchase under old business. New business items on the agenda include a resolution and guidelines for the deer management program, amendment to the administrative policy manual regarding vacation leave, authorization to solicit bids for a sewer cleaner/vacuum manhole cleaner,and a charter amendment ballot proposal for council member compensation.
The Kingsford City Council will meet today at 6:30 p.m. in the council meeting room, located upstairs of the city hall building, 305 S. Carpenter Ave. in Kingsford.
Old business includes a timber sale bid opening, notice of intent for revolving loan fund administration, environmental engineering services recommendation and geotechnical engineering services recommendation,
The Dickinson-Iron Intermediate School District Board of Education will hold a regular meeting at 8 a.m. on Thursday at the Oak Crest Golf Course dining room in Norway.
An executive session is planned to conduct the superintendent’s evaluation. After a lunch break from 11:30 a.m.t o 12:30 p.m., the board will be back in open session with action to fill the Head Start Great Start readiness coordinator/Head Start lead coordinator position under old business.
New business includes action on revised job descriptions for all departments, request to temporarily fill the position of center director in North Dickinson and temporarily fill the position of part-time assistant classroom coordinator. The board will also act on a letter of resignation, and revised admission, attendance and withdrawal procedures.
The Breitung Township Schools Board of Education will be meeting today at 7 p.m. in the board room of the administration building, 2000 Pyle Drive in Kingsford.
The Florence County School District Board of Education will meet today at 5:30 p.m. in Room 215 of the high school.
Under new business, the board will discuss milk bids, food service for 2013-14, district legal services, first review of board policy and out-of-state tuition payment.
A closed session is planned to discuss personnel, staffing/contracts/compensation, negotiations, and specific student matters.
The Norway City Council will meet today at 7 p.m. in the council room of the city hall building, 915 Main St. in Norway.
Agenda items include the local street paving contract, crack seal contract, wastewater treatment plant contract operations, sale of city owned property to First Baptist Church of Norway, sale of city owned property to Grant Litts, and approval of a resolution for the 2014 Oak Crest Golf Course membership rates.
The Florence County Board will meet Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the commissioner’s room in the Florence County Courthouse.
The Norway School Board of Education will meet today at 6:30 p.m. in the library. If the meeting is not going to be held in the library, due to construction going on, the change will be posted.
