FLORENCE, Wis. – Three Aurora, Wis. residents have been charged with crimes stemming from an Aug. 2 disturbance at their home that led to a marijuana bust.

Chad Ellis Christian, 34, faces one felony count of possession with intent to deliver marijuana-between 200 and 1,000 grams, one misdemeanor count of possession of marijuana, one misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia, and one misdemeanor count of pointing a firearm at another.

If convicted, Christian could spend up to six years in prison.

Marthann Hicks, 33, and Sarah Elizabeth Sparapani, 25, each face one misdemeanor count of possession of marijuana.

If convicted, Hicks and Sparapani could each spend up to six months in jail.

All three defendants are scheduled for initial appearances in Florence County Court on Aug. 20.

The Aug. 2 incident began when deputies from the Florence County Sheriff’s Department received a report that a man had pointed a rifle at another man at their residence on Pemenee Drive.

According to the criminal complaint in the case, deputies and Dickinson County authorities arrived on scene and were able to get Christian, Hicks, and another man out of the house and into custody.

The man told deputies that he was being evicted from the residence, and that Christian had held him at gunpoint while he checked the property.

No criminal charges have been filed against the man.

While clearing the residence, deputies detected a chemical odor that they believed was consistent with methamphetamine manufacture. A hazmat team was then summoned to the scene.

Hazmat team members discovered several bottles of unknown chemicals and a ventilation pipe, but no methamphetamine.

Christian told deputies that cat urine was the likely source of the strong chemical odor.

Deputies did recover marijuana and other grow materials from the residence.

During the bust, Sparapani, who also lives at the residence, returned home. Deputies found some marijuana in her vehicle and arrested her.
