Alice Martin

IRON MOUNTAIN – Alice June Martin, 82, of Iron Mountain, passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2013, at Freeman Health and Rehabilitation Community.

Alice was born June 14, 1931, in Wausaukee, Wis., daughter of the late George and Clemance (Baye) Jossart. She has been a resident of this area for most of her life and worked as a cook at Irwin’s Restaurant in Iron Mountain, the Northwoods Restaurant, and Kaye’s Kitchen. She also spent six years behind the counter at the Ben Franklin store and worked for two years at Hyland Nursing Home.

Alice was a member of St. Mary and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iron Mountain. She enjoyed going for walks, watching and feeding the chipmunks and taking care of her flowers.

She is survived by her sons, James (Pennie) Martin of Quinnesec and Wm. John (Bobbi) Martin of Iron Mountain; daughter, Theresa Cobb of Quinnesec; brother, George Jossart of Niagara, Wis.; and sister, Mary (Arnie) Miller of Kingsford; nine grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

Private memorial services will be held.

Burial will be in the Amberg Cemetery.
