FLORENCE, Wis. – One person was injured and a dog was killed in a two-vehicle accident in Florence on Monday.

The accident occurred at about 5 p.m. on U.S. 2 in downtown Florence.

Deputies from the Florence County Sheriff’s Department said that a male driver became distracted by his dog in the center console of his vehicle and was not aware that a vehicle ahead of him had stopped to make a turn.
